WHAT IS CROSSFIT?
What is CrossFit? In a nutshell, CrossFit is a fitness program developed to “increase work capacity across broad time and modal domains.” But what does that really mean to most of us?
On the technical side, it all boils down to “constantly varied, functional movements at relatively high intensity.” This means changing things up on a regular basis, varying the resistance (the amount of weight) used from workout to workout, performing movements that translate to movements we do in our daily life (work and play), and doing all of these things at a level of intensity that gets your heart really pumping!
But for us, the real beauty of CrossFit, and what we strive for at the Lion’s Den, is doing all of this in a setting built upon a culture of support, encouragement, and inclusion. At the Lion’s Den, we have members that range from the competitive athlete to those who have never really been part of a fitness program before. And we are proud to have these individuals working side-by-side, encouraging each other, and helping each other reach their goals together!
